   ABOUT

Following completing 3 years of acting training at the Australian Academy of Dramatic Art (AADA), now the Australian Institute of Music (AIM), Alys worked in Sydney before moving to London in 2012. She is working in stage, screen and commercial while completing her PhD in Theatre and Performance (Shakespeare) at the Universities of Warwick (UK) and Monash (AU). She is currently working as a PhD Researcher at Shakespeare's Globe and will be speaking at the upcoming Globe 4 Globe: Shakespeare and Climate Emergency #globe4globe.

Awards: The English National Theatre Ian Charleson Award Commendation for Outstanding Performance in a Classical Production (Yelena, The Wood Demon). 

For screen, Alys has played Alexis in BBC miniseries The Kangaroo Gang: Thieves by Appointment, Fleur Donovan in Home and Away, Amy Bosley in the Discovery series Deadly Women and Marianne Durst in Behind Mansion Walls (Discovery USA). Additional film and television roles include Marianne in Sense and Sensibility (Inspire) and Catherine (Hollyrood Hall). 

Stage roles include: 

Titania/Hippolyta (A Misummer Night's Dream) Thaisa/Thalliard (Pericles), Ophelia (Hamlet) and Hero (Much Ado About Nothing) (the Cambridge Shakespeare Festival); Brutus (Coriolanus) for Heartstring Melbourne, Katharina (The Taming of the Shrew), Livia (The Tamer Tamed), Lady Capulet (Romeo and Juliet) and Mariana (Measure for Measure) (Shakespeare by the Sea) as well as Beatrice (Much Ado) and Olivia (Twelfth Night, tour).
